Today is the Women’s Finals at Wimbledon. Everyone has been glued to either the tv or if you’re lucky enough, a court side seat. Admittedly I’m not the biggest tennis fan, but this year something about it has got me hooked. Maybe its because Andy Murray could be the Uk’s last hope. We need something to lift the Uk’s spirits. Lets face it were not having the best time , but I won’t go in to that right now.
All of this Wimbledon spirit inspired me to reach for something in my wardrobe that I haven’t really worn before, my vintage Fred Perry Skirt. Earlier this year I visited Berlin, and saw this in one of the many vintage stores and I knew I had to have it. In total it took me two days to think on it after seeing it for the first time, however I withdrew the extra holiday cash, and I haven’t looked back since!
Whilst wearing this get-up admittedly I did get heckled twice, and my mum repeatedly asked me what time I was due on court *mum you’re hilarious*. But it was really fun to wear, and thats all fashion is about really, dressing in clothes that make you feel good.
Can we please also have a moment to appreciate all that Serena Williams is – one of the most successful tennis player ever! And as she so rightly told us in Beyonce’s music Video for Sorry, she will never apologise for being who she is, and why should she??! *rant over*
